Flute Making
By Marty Lisonbee |
$125 |
Tent 1 |
|
This flute making
workshop is being offered by Marty Lisonbee of
Native Echo Flutes. Marty will provide flute blanks
that will accommodate making a flute in the key
of A, G or F# or F. You may also opt to build an E or D flute for an extra $25. The E has a 1" bore and the D a 1 1/8" bore. These
flute blanks feature a solid piece of wood, line
bored to maintain a single piece flute body. Then
your flute blank's basic shape is turned on a
lathe, providing...near perfect symmetry and wall
thickness, important elements of building a high
quality flute. Then Marty will share with you
techniques of constructing a flute that will provide
you a clean, clear sound with good volume. A basic
Cedar blank is included in the tuition, but this
year participants can also opt to upgrade
to a premium wood with burned inlay, turquoise inlace inlay or real turquoise inlay.
Also learn and create a natural edge on the end of your flute.
These premium blanks
will be available on a first come, first serve
basis. The additional payment for these blanks will
be made at the workshop. At the end of this workshop,
participants will take home a high quality flute
at a fraction of the price of buying one, not
to mention the skills needed to make your next
flute. This year an additional instructor will also be available to assist students with questions and assistance. Class size is limited to 20 participants.
|
|

You may also have an option of upgrading to a carved flute blank. Now these are really cool!

Learn and create a natural edge on your flute.

Rattle Making By Valerie Nunnelley
|
Saturday 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm |
Simple rawhide rattles are used to accompany the rhythm of the drum beat. They are symbols of music, dance, medicine and spirituality, and are common in all tribes in Native American culture. The rattle is said to represent the three kingdoms: The animal kingdom provides the container. The mineral kingdom is represented by the pebbles used to make the sound, or in the paint used to adorn the rattle, while the wooden handle comes from the plant kingdom. Materials for two rattles are included in this experiential workshop: You will make one rattle to take home and finish on your own, and you will have one rattle "in the rough" for you to complete in the class.

Shamanic Sound Healing Ceremony
By Vince Chafin |
$35 |
Park Gazebo |
“Sweet, powerful, soft, fluid, healing, beauty, mother, father, union, melting, release, clarity...thank you so much for such a memorable experience, and the opportunity to witness a few more layers fall away.”
“What a gift you are. What a powerful and transforming experience it was having you at QuietStar Sunday Circle. WOW! Thank you.”-Robin Klickstein, QuietStar Center for Transformation
“My being is still resonating days later with the multi-sensory experience of Vince’s Shamanic sound healing ceremony. What opened in me is that part of myself that becomes closed with busyness and thought. Vince is a powerful space holder for Spirit and his intuition guides him to awaken and deepen the sacred in each and every person through ancient and mystical ways...”
“Thank you for holding such a powerful container of Sacred Energy. My tears still flow.”
“Your capacity of your heart to work so completely and compassionately with all who were present in your ceremony is not only a gift, but a way of being that is deeply moving. You weave and hold a magical space for Spirit to linger and to penetrate into our hearts.”
“Vince, thank you for helping me to release what needed to be released, embrace what needed to be witnessed, open what needed to be discovered. You create a safe, nurturing and loving environment for me to grow into my true self. What a gift you have.”
“The ceremony we did helped to wake me up from what seems like a long sleep. It has challenged me to stand back in my power and do the things I need to be doing.”
"By far, this was one of the most profound experiences of my life."
"Thank you for putting me so safely and deeply in my body and letting my fly..."
